A few years ago NS Bikes decided to launch a new brand of frames and components that were designed to be strong, functional and affordable. The aim was to offer components that were not as sophisticated as NS Bikes and would allow riders to build nice bikes without having to spend a fortune.

This season Octane One is stepping up one notch and the whole line has been seriously revamped and pumped up with some high end features, colours and designs. The prices however stayed on the same level which is a very good news for everyone looking for some fresh and yet affordable components.

Brand new Octane One Spark frames during 2011 photoshoot

This small revolution began in the frames department. From this year there is a new frame dedicated for street and park appropriately named the Spark.

Octane One Spark – street and park dedicated frame designed for 24″ wheels.

This is great news for all 24” wheels enthusiast as the Spark’s frame geometry is designed for 24″ wheels only. It’s a perfect choice for low travel suspension forks (60-100mm) or rigid forks. The frame features medium front-end length, short compact rear end with a high BB. The head angle is quite steep – perfect for quick handling and easy front wheel tricks. The chain stays will let you adjust the rear wheel position within the 365-381mm range. The Sparks head tube is designed to work with an integrated headset and comes with a standard threaded BB shell so you can easily fit your favorite mountain bike cranks. With simple & straight seat stays and small dropouts w/o a derailleur hanger and cable guides you get weight saving and perfect clean look. Custom butted tubes beefed up in the stress areas keep weight low and strength high. An additionally reinforced top tube / seat tube junction is tough enough to survive abuse from tailwhips and 360’s.

In 2011 we can also get a new version of Void frame which comes with more dirt oriented geometry and is designed especially for 26” wheels and some brand new colors and finishes. The seat tube extension over the top tube has been shortened and the frame has an integrated seat post clamp. The frame has no V-brakes mounts that would mess with the clean look, and the Void comes with disk brake mounts and fit rotors up to 185mm.
